Ian Poulter Gives Twitter Follower Golf Tickets, Because He Asked

There’s an old saying out there: Ask, and you shall receive.

Certainly, though, there are things you can ask and ask and ask for, and most of the time you don’t end up getting. I’ve been begging the universe for a date with Anna Kendrick for about three years now and here I am … waiting.

For one of Ian Poulter’s Twitter followers, he didn’t have to wait. The guy wanted tickets to the FedEx St. Jude Classic so he decided to ask Poults, whose answer kind of surprise everyone — especially Sean Brock:

Many golfers, athletes, celebrities, etc., like to give stuff away via contests on Twitter, but not too many of them give tickets away just because someone asked. And, as if leaving the tickets for Brock wasn’t enough, Poulter took the time out of his day to actually meet and take a picture with the him:

This is quite the moment. Poulter is known to be one of the good guys on tour and this sort of solidifies it for me. Asking a professional athlete or celebrity straight up for tickets or something is a decidedly low-percentage play, but hey, sometimes it works, right? It did this time.

So … Anna … about that date?
