She may be young, but Lydia Ko is no dummy. She definitely knows how to say “thanks” and what it means to be a professional.
The completion of the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic this weekend marked one full year since Ko, 17, made her first start as a pro on the LPGA Tour. In that short time, she’s already won three times and risen to No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings. Along the way, she’s received nothing but support from her peers.
So, to say thank you, Ko left an over-sized Whittaker’s chocolate bar in the locker of all 120 players in the field, tagging them with a brief “thank you” note.
“This is where I made my first start as a rookie last year,” Ko said. “I just wanted to thank everyone for being super nice to me all year.”
