SwingU, the golf technology and media company, has signed Georgia Southern University’s Ben Carr, the No. 12-ranked player per GolfStat’s Men’s Collegiate Individual Rankings, as a SwingU Collegiate Ambassador.
Carr finished in the top-8 of all four events he played in this fall, including a win at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Ben was recently named as one of 15 finalists for the Fred Haskins Award, joining current SwingU Ambassadors J.M. Butler of Auburn and Cameron Sisk of Arizona State. The Haskins Award is presented annually to the most outstanding men’s collegiate golfer, as voted on by players, coaches and media members.
Carr will use SwingU’s elite statistics platform to accurately and objectively provide feedback on all five key areas of his game as he intends to carry the momentum of a strong fall season into the spring.
“SwingU has been awesome so far. I’ve been able to track my stats every round just like the pros do,” Carr said. “I think it’s really helped me to hone in on what parts of my game are holding me back a little bit. I’m excited to get better because of it.”
A three-time winner at Georgia Southern as well as the 2021 Southeastern Amateur champion, Carr has been an All-Sun Belt performer two of the last three seasons and heads into the spring season of his senior year boasting the best scoring average of his collegiate career (68.5).
Since the start of 2021, more than 100 active professional and top-tier collegiate golfers are using the SwingU App and performance data platform to track their strokes gained and game-improvement data.
