SwingU subscribes to the notion that if you’re standing still, you’re falling behind. With that in mind, our team is constantly evolving and attempting to improve the way our app can help you both on and off the course.
In recent months, our developers have been hard at work making a number of pretty awesome enhancements to both our Free and Premium offerings of the SwingU app. Here are three of our biggest improvements that we believe will significantly enhance your potential performance on the course.
?? Hole Insights & Notes
Released in late 2019, Hole Insights is a new game-changing “digital caddie” feature. Taking our “digital caddie” offering to the next level, Hole Insights allows you to reference your past performance on each hole and compare it against other SwingU golfers. For example, if your driving accuracy is poor compared to others, consider clubbing down to hit the fairway and start the hole off right.
The Notes section is a personalized section where you can keep any notes about the hole that may be beneficial to you. If there’s a greenside bunker that’s absolutely dead, you’ll know it before you hit your approach. This is a really cool feature that can hep you to save strokes on every hole.
? World Handicap System
As of January 1, 2020, the USGA, R&A and the rest of golf’s governing bodies around the world decided to roll out a new World Handicap System. The WHS is a modification and unification of the old systems of handicapping that was designed to create “a unified and more inclusive handicapping system for the first time.”
SwingU incorporated the WHS into its release at the beginning of the year, and users won’t have to do any configuring to their in-app handicaps to be conforming with the rest of the golf world.

⌚️ A Redesigned Apple Watch Experience
There are plenty of golfers who buy smartwatches specifically with golf in mind. To that end, we wanted to make sure our Apple Watch App was as good as it could be so that you can enjoy your golf with as few technological distractions as possible.
With that in mind, we rebuilt our Apple Watch App from the ground up last year, and we truly believe it to be the best wearable companion app out there.
We will have some more exciting news coming on the Apple Watch front in the coming months, so stay tuned for that.
