SwingU, the sports technology and media company, would like to congratulate SwingU Collegiate Ambassador Kenan Poole of the University of North Carolina for co-medalling at the Ross Collegiate Classic.
Poole, a junior, started using the SwingU App and its proprietary strokes gained and stat tracking system in August 2021. A few months later, Poole fired rounds of 72-71-67 at the par-72 Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club to win his first collegiate title.
Poole finished the 54-hole tournament hosted by George Mason University tied with Princeton’s William Huang at 6-under par, 210. Poole made six birdies and an eagle in the third round to reach the winning number.
For the week, Poole finished at +4.6 Strokes Gained: Total, a combination of all five facets — driving, approach, chip/pitch, sand and putting — of strokes gained. Poole excelled off the tee, picking up +5.8 strokes against par, approaching the green (+1.7 SG: Approach) and out of the sand (+1.7 SG: Sand).
“I like seeing the trends over dozens of rounds and where I can improve my game to shoot lower scores,” Poole said of his use of SwingU. “SwingU identifies weaknesses in your game and allows you to practice areas that need improvement.”
Poole joins fellow SwingU Collegiate Ambassadors Cameron Sisk of Arizona State, Caleb Manuel of the University of Connecticut, Nick Sutton of Tennessee Tech University and Canon Claycomb of the University of Alabama as winners this season.
Since the start of 2021, more than 100 active professional and top-tier collegiate golfers are using the SwingU App and performance data platform to track their strokes gained and game-improvement data.
