Fairways of Life:~Bohn Calls Anchoring Ban “BS”

PGA Tour veterans Jason Bohn and Kevin Streelman both joined Matt Adams on “Fairways of Life” on Tuesday to discuss the most controversial topic in the golf world: the looming ban of the anchored stroke. Bohn and Streelman are both members of the Players Advisory Council, which convened Monday in a teleconference with PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem on the subject of supporting the ban proposed by the anchored bodies. Neither one of them use an anchored putter in competition, but Jason Bohn makes it pretty obvious what his feelings are on the matter.

Tom Lehman joined Matt Adams on Tuesday’s “Fairways of Life,” and the former Ryder Cup captain let Matt in on his secret to dealing with the frustrations of tournament golf. “I am probably like most anybody else. I can get really upset and very unhappy,” he said. “And the frustration of throwing away a good round or throwing away a tournament at the end, you know, it really knaws at me. “But I’ve always been good about doing something to let it out and then leaving it out on the course. Then I get inspired to go work harder.”

On Tuesday’s “Fairways of Life,” Matt Adams discussed the big news of the week: Tiger Woods. Woods won the Farmers Insurance Open by four strokes. It was his eighth career win at Torrey Pines, the most by any golfer at one course. It’s also his seventh-career win in the Farmers Insurance Open, marking the third PGA Tour event Woods has won that many times (Bay Hill Invitational, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational). Matt recapped Woods’ win with sound from the champion himself, as well as other high finishers from Torrey Pines.
