The Easiest Way To Lower Your Handicap

The frequency and the severity of a players’ errors does more to dictate a players’ scoring level than all of the good or average shots they hit. In SwingU Versus’ strokes gained algorithm, there are three negative driving results, penalties in the approach game, missed greens on short-game shots, so there is an array of negative analysis points.

If a player wants to lower their handicap level, they need to attack and mitigate the frequency and severity of their errors.

Errors Defined

  • Tee or Approach shots hit out of play (requiring an advancement, or resulting in a penalty).
  • Chip/Pitch shots that miss the green AND require 4 or more strokes to hole out.
  • Sand Shots that miss the green AND require 4 or more shots to hole out.
  • 3-Putts from 30 feet and closer.
