Faldo’s Embarrassing On-Air Moment

Nick Faldo has carved out quite the career path for himself since his playing days. One of the most fearsome competitors in professional golf during his heydey, famous for not talking to his playing partners during tournament rounds, has ironically made the most of his post-playing career by talking about golf in the commentary booth.

Unsurprisingly, Faldo, who won 41 times as a professional, including six major championships, is more than capable of bringing fans of the game inside the ropes with his commentary and experience, however, even Sir Nick is not immune to struggles with age.

Following a 63 in the third round of this past week’s The Northern Trust, Bryson DeChambeau joined Faldo and Jim Nantz in the 18th tower to talk about his game, his round and his Ryder Cup ambitions. Faldo, preparing to check a stat sheet to form a question or perhaps just get a better look at DeChambeau, went to put his glasses on when this happened.

Of course, in the age of social media, even a 61-year-old man accidentally putting his glasses on upside down could not be let go. Yet, to his credit, Faldo has become even more likable on social media than he has become in the booth, poking some fun at himself on Twitter.

Remember, if you’re ever on television, even if you’ve won six majors, you’re never safe from some social media’s harsh glare.
