A priest, a doctor and a professional golfer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers.
“What’s with these guys?” the pro asked. “We must have been waiting for 15 minutes!”
“I don’t know, but I’ve never seen such ineptitude,” the doctor said.
“Hey, here comes the greenskeeper. Let’s have a word with him,” the priest said. “Hi George, say George, what’s with that group ahead of us? They’re rather slow, aren’t they?”
“Oh yes,” the greenskeeper responded. “That’s a group of blind firefighters. They lost their sight while saving our clubhouse last year, so we let them play here anytime, free of charge.”
There was a long period of silence when finally the priest spoke up.
“That’s so sad,” he said. “I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight.”
“Good idea,” the doctor said. “I’ll contact my ophthalmologist buddy and see if there’s anything he can do for them.”
The golfer, still a little peeved with the slow play, offered, “Why can’t these guys play at night?”
