Golf is a social sport, and we think it’s fun to share golf experiences; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Partnering with our friends at gottaGolf (The Ball Tracer & Social Golf App), SxS is proud to bring you “Golf Fails brought to you by gottaGolf,” a weekly reminder that golf is… really hard.
Depending on what teaching method you subscribe to, there’s a common thought that you should only attempt to pull of recovery shots that you’re confident you can complete 90% of the time. If you’re skirting that average, you’re playing with fire and bringing double or triple bogey into play.
The golfer above has a shot between two trees that most competent golfers can pull off 90% of the time. That is as long as they take their medicine and go through the fat part of the gap. The golfer above appears to have tried to get a little too daring with his punch shot, which brought the left tree, the cart path and pain into his life.
Of course, it should be noted that this is incredibly bad luck to hit the tree with the perfect trajectory to reject the ball from which it came, hit the path and then the unfortunate golfer right where it counts.
