When it comes to trick shots in general and golf trick shots in particular, folks on the outside typically only see the end result. However, there is usually a lot of practicing and trial and error that goes into a successful end product.
That fact makes the above video all the more infuriating for the guy attempting to hit the Phil Mickelson backwards flop shot. Not only does this guy have to contort his body to get the proper impact and ball flight, he also has to judge the distance and a little bit of break to pull off the completed trick.
When it looks like he’s matched up all of the elements perfectly, here comes his friend to give the ball tracking for the cup a quick kick and give the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag.
That’s just cruel.
