🎁 Your 2023 SwingU Year In Review Is Here

1/11/2024

With 2023 in the rearview mirror and 2024 just underway, we believe that the best way to make progress in the New Year is to reflect on where we’ve been and plan for where we want to go.

In that spirit, the SwingU team has put together a Year In Review for every golfer who recorded a round within the app this season.

In your SwingU app, navigate to your Stats tab and select Year in Review at the top. There you’ll find several data points, including your year-end handicap, number of rounds played, cumulative statistics and a rounds-per-month chart.

Don’t keep it to yourself… we want to see your Year in Review! Share a screenshot of your 2023 highs and lows on social media, tag us (@swinguapp on X and Instagram) and add the hashtag #SwingUYearInReview to be entered to win a dozen premium golf balls.

Five (5) lucky winners will be selected at random to win one dozen SwingU-logoed Titleist ProV1s.

We had a great time helping you improve in 2023 and we can’t wait to do more of the same this year.

✨ Your SwingU GPS Screen Got A Facelift

11/21/2023

SwingU is excited to announce our latest aesthetic and on-course enhancements to our top-rated GPS, Scorecard & Stats app in our latest (8.4.0) release.

8.4.0 continues SwingU’s user experience improvements with a GPS refresh, a new Apple Watch SwingU home screen, adjusted recommended drills categories for in-app stats, improved “Plays Like” distance calculations, and the ability to change dates & types for past rounds.

From a design perspective, all users will benefit from updated fonts & colors as well as new in-round navigation, making it easier to change holes, enter your score and access your on-course menu. Users can now also toggle off their score to par on the GPS view.

Apple Watch users will notice a new home screen greets them upon launching the SwingU app that searches for a round in progress, making it easier and quicker to begin your round.

SwingU Plus and Pro users will enjoy an improved “Plays Like” distance calculation based upon situation-specific data to better gauge a true yardage, taking into account wind speed & direction’s influence on a golf ball.

SwingU Pro users will see their game-improvement journey improved via a more pointed category direction from the stats portion of the app, allowing for easier navigation directly to top practice priorities.

Lastly, we’ve enabled the ability for all users to change the dates and round types of past scores, which will allow for better and more accurate filtering.

📈 Your In-App Stats Experience Just Leveled Up

9/1/2023

SwingU is excited to announce our latest game-improvement enhancement to our top-rated GPS, Scorecard & Stats app in our latest (8.3.0) release.

8.3.0 further integrates SwingU’s proprietary Tour-level statistics platform directly into users’ smartphones in a streamlined and aesthetically pleasing way, making for much more powerful stats and performance data analysis.

Free users and Plus subscribers will now enjoy a more robust, easy-to-navigate Stats tab with an improved traditional statistics experience for each individual round and your aggregate performance – including average score by par, fairways hit, greens in regulation, scrambling, sand saves and putts per round.

SwingU Pro subscribers will be on the cutting edge of modern advanced statistics, moving away from outdated & misleading traditional stats in favor of more accurate & actionable strokes gained metrics that pinpoint strengths and weaknesses in your game to lead to quicker game improvement.

Within the new Stats tab, Pro users can conduct a deeper analysis of their performance at both the overall and per-round level, including breakdowns of each strokes gained facet for quicker and more productive game analysis.

The improved integration of these Tour-level stats and data tools into the app only further solidifies SwingU’s place atop the game-improvement marketplace, offering users advanced analysis previously unavailable to amateur golfers.

📉 You’ve Now Got Your Own Tour-Level Data

5/31/2023

SwingU is excited to announce another significant enhancement to how our users can analyze their on-course data and ultimately improve their games.

We’ve released massive improvements to our web-based stats experience. This is an enormous upgrade from our previous offering via app.swingu.com and provides access to Tour-level data analysis for our SwingU Pro subscribers.

Accessible via desktop, laptop or tablet, Pro subscribers will now be privy to a holistic view of their games as well as the ability to dive into each facet on a granular level.

Advanced filtering allows users to view their stats in various timeframes for more relevant analysis while also comparing themselves over the course of their SwingU journey.

This update is the latest in a string of product improvements we’ve made so far this year, and we intend to continue to optimize throughout the remainder of the season.

📱 We Just Launched A New Homescreen

4/1/2023

SwingU is excited to announce a number of significant updates made to our top-rated GPS, Scorecard & Stats app in our latest (8.0.0) release.

8.0.0 is the exciting culmination of a lot of changes and improvements that have been made to the app over the last several months (and will continue in the months to come).

First and foremost, all SwingU app users will notice a new & improved home screen for easy view of key data about your game and navigation to core parts of the app which complements the reconfigured navigation bar that provides easy access to the best & most used parts of the app.

Our Pro users will benefit greatly from enhancements to the Drills library navigation and the addition of more than 50 new Performance Practice Drills to hone your skills as opposed to technical instruction, which is less likely to fit your unique game.

Finally, we’ve improved the course selection screen within the “Play” experience as well as made the tee selection screen more informative for users.

Released: Additional Apple Watch Improvements

2/20/2023

We’re excited to release some additional performance and reliability enhancements to the Apple Watch experience today.

While version 7.8.0 of the SwingU app introduced Apple Watch independence some users have reported a variety of Watch-related issues that we simply did not encounter in our testing processes at the time.

We’ve been hard at work trying to resolve any of these issues for you. In today’s 7.8.2 release, we’ve attempted to both fix these bugs while also giving you the user more control over your experience.

This release includes:

  • Improved GPS responsiveness / time to display distances
  • Improved connectivity between the iPhone and Watch when starting a round
  • A more reliable “End Round” experience from the Watch
  • A fix for the issues some users have encountered with the Watch app launching on its own
  • A fix for shot tracking duplicates
  • And a new Settings screen in the phone app to manage various Watch settings; giving you more control over your own experience

While we’re excited about these refinements, we’re continuing to work on advancements, including improved battery performance on older Watch models.
