When you play on the PGA Tour, you play for the big bucks (thanks, Tiger!) This week at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, the winner will take home nearly $2 million, and that’s not even the biggest purse on Tour!
Here are the 10 tournaments with the biggest purses this season.
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
2017 Purse: $7,400,000
Winner’s Share: $1.3M
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am checks in with the 10th highest purse on the PGA Tour in 2017 at $7.4 million, with the winner receiving $1.3 million. This 80-year-old tradition was originally known as the Bing Crosby National Pro-Amateur, or more commonly as the Crosby Clambake. It is usually one of the more popular stops especially early in the season for good reason; the venue and of course, the celebrities.
The event is played on three courses with the current rotation being Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club. AT&T became the title sponsor in 1986 and it is currently organized by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation.
