11 Tour Pro Private Jet Moments

Flying from tournament to tournament is part of the job of a professional golfer. However, the fact is traveling to all of these events are expensive, especially if you’re just grinding to keep your card. On the flip side, the top players don’t exactly need to worry about getting where they need to go, comfortably.

Here are 11 cool moments of Tour pros and their private jets.

Jordan Spieth

We kick off this luxury travel list with somebody who’s got the titles to match: three-time major champion Jordan Spieth. Spieth claimed his first Claret Jug in historic fashion at Royal Birkdale in 2017 going 5-under in his last 5 holes to become only the second man to win three legs of the career grand slam before the age of 24.

After a brief celebration in Southport, Spieth headed back to the States in style on his private jet with his golf clubs and coveted trophy in tow.

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy looks hard at work in this artistic selfie. Lounging back in what’s obviously not coach of a commercial airplane, his lime green shoes and wood-trimed cabin scream four-time major champion.

Jack Nicklaus

This shot of Jack Nicklaus on his plane in 1980 is outstanding. It’s been said that he’s logged more miles in the air than just about anyone in golf maybe ever. Seems crazy how far technology has come.

Tiger Woods

When Tiger’s not flying commercial he’s been known to fly a Gulfstream G550 which is the longest-range business jet available. The plane can hold 16 people comfortably. “Air Cat 1” is no joke.

Rickie Fowler and Co.

Rickie Fowler, Kevin Tway and Chesson Hadley snapped this classy selfie before hopping on a private jet to the 2014 BMW Championship. Apparently, you need a white hat to be able to board.

Sergio Garcia

Look at Sergio in all his glory. Garcia owns a Hawker 4000 business jet, and while he jokes that it is large enough for 15- to 20-foot lag putts down the aisle, “it can be tricky when you’re in the air because if the plane moves a little bit, there’s some breaks there that you can’t see.” Good one, Serg.

Charl Schwartzel

Something about this Charl Schwartzel photo is fascinating. Maybe it’s because you didn’t know the 2011 Masters champion had his pilot’s license. Or maybe because you might not have known he’s cool enough to own a chopper like a Bell 206 Jet Ranger.

Phil Mickelson

Phil Mickelson is a man of many talents, but there’s nothing he cherishes more than being a father. In 2013 ahead of the U.S. Open, Mickelson flew back and forth between Merion outside of Philadelphia and his California home to witness his daughter’s eighth-grade graduation. The dedication is to be commended, but flying in a $40 million Gulfstream jet eases the jetlag.

Zach Johnson & Jordan Spieth

Zach Johnson won his second major title at the 2015 Open Championship and had a chance to celebrate on the private plane ride home. Jordan Spieth was there to join in on the festivities. Now, he’s got a jug of his own.

Arnold Palmer

Nobody in golf was more into aviation than Arnold Palmer. Here he is with a rented Cessna 172, in his early flying days with golf clubs in hand and nothing else. What a legend!

Jordan Spieth…again.

It doesn’t get any better than winning the Masters and then hopping in your sponsor’s jet. Jordan Spieth accomplished that feat by claiming the green jacket in 2015. We’re pretty sure he didn’t have to stow it above the seat.
