Golf can frustrate players of all skill levels, from those who can’t break 100 all the way down to the pros who play for a living.
The latest case in point? Australian pro Terry Pilkadaris.
Pilkadaris was competing in the Asian Tour’s Panasonic Open India on Thursday when an up-and-down day led his frustrations to boil over. Coming off of back-to-back bogeys on the 15th and 16th holes to put him at 2-over par for the day, Pilkadaris hit a solid shot into the par-3 17th hole.

When his mid-range birdie putt went begging, Pilkadaris did what many golfers have either done or considered doing when they’re fed up: he tomahawk threw his putter into some nearby woods.
Immediately realizing the error of his ways, Pilkadaris went after the flat stick. It was a good thing he did, too, because he would go on to birdie the par-5 18th hole at Delhi Golf Club to shoot an opening round of 1-over par 73. He enters Friday’s second round in a tie for 53rd place, nine shots back of the leader and with a lot less bottled-up frustration.
