Bill Murray is a staple of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am every year. Each February, the Caddyshack star shows up in some bizarre outfits, mingles with the galleries and typically plays some pretty solid golf. However, on Saturday on the Monterey Peninsula, even the great comedian got fed up with some of his surroundings.
Undoubtedly a bit annoyed by the six-hour rounds they were playing, and evidently, by the actions of a certain cameraman, Murray blew off a Golf Channel interview with Phil Blackmar.
Blackmar was left out in the proverbial cold, seemingly unknowing of Murray’s disdain for his co-worker. When he finally caught up with Murray, the movie star asked for the cameraman’s name and then dismissively walked away. Slow play can cause anyone to have a short temper.
Murray and his partner, D.A. Points, charged up the leaderboard on Saturday to slide inside the cut line at 16-under par. They trail Pro-Am leaders Jordan Spieth and Jake Owen by nine strokes.
In the tournament proper, Spieth looks to be en route to a blowout victory, holding a six-shot lead over Brandt Snedeker following his second consecutive round of 65. Dustin Johnson and Kelly Kraft are tied for third place at seven shots back.
Here are the full third round highlights from Pebble Beach.
