It doesn’t get much better than draining a long putt on the 72nd hole on Sunday for the win, while fending off the current World Number One in the process. Brian Harman accomplished that very feat at the Wells Fargo Championship during an exciting final round at Eagle Point Golf Club in Willington, North Carolina. The 30-year-old Georgia native started the day two shots back but made a charge up with leaderboard which included birding the last two holes, with the final one being this clutch 28-foot putt on 18 to seal the victory. This was Harman’s second PGA Tour title of his career.
World No.1 Dustin Johnson made a valiant effort gunning for his fourth straight win after returning from his back injury which kept him out of the Masters. However, he came up one shot short after closing with a final round 67. Also in the mix down the stretch was a resurgent Pat Perez, and rookie/stud, Jon Rahm (please note: this was his fifth top-five already this year!)
Here are Sunday’s final round highlights and results:
Next stop on the PGA Tour: The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
