Professional golfers are good; everybody knows that. It’s he type of control they have over the club that could be classified as pure magic. One such magician is Bubba Watson.
On Wednesday during The Northern Trust’s pro-am, the two-time Masters champion put on a show when he took his amateur playing partner’s right-handed driver, flipped it upside down and murdered a tee shot.
“Don’t nobody try this at home,” Bubba, who’s a lefty, said standing over the ball, “I am a professional.”
After the initial gasps and laughter, they went to the Trackman to get a read on the numbers and they were insane. Bubba’s righty swing carried 276 yards and traveled a total of 291!
“You might wanna take that one,” Bubba said to his partner.
“I’m gonna play that one,” the amateur agreed.
Watson entered the FedEx Cup playoffs at 113 in the overall standings. If he wants to survive and advance to Boston for the Dell Technologies Championship next week, he’ll need to crack the top 100.
