Professional golfers typically have mind-boggling hole-in-one stats.
Tiger Woods recently made his 20th ace of his life just last month. Jack Nicklaus is credited with having 20 aces as well and Arnold Palmer is only one behind the pair with 19, but being a great player doesn’t guarantee a myriad of aces.
Ben Hogan is said to have only hit two in his lifetime, and he’s widely considered to be one of the greatest ball strikers of all time, so it’s not a given that all Tour players have experienced the euphoria of a hole-in-one.
Case in point: Nicolas Colsaerts. The long-hitting Belgian plays the majority of his professional golf on the European Tour, and it took him 30 years of playing the game to notch his first ace earlier this week.
Playing at Trump International Golf Club in Dubai while prepping for next week’s 2019 European Tour kick-off event, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, Colsaerts knocked in his first-ever ace.

Naturally, for one of the longest hitters in the game, it came on an uphill, 330-yard par-4.
Despite this being his first ace, it isn’t the first time we’ve seen him go 3-under par on one hole; that feat was accomplished only a few months ago at the Portugal Masters.
Colsaerts, who played on victorious 2012 European Ryder Cup team, will look to put himself into the mix for newly-appointed captain Padraig Harrington’s 2020 squad. He begins this year ranked 185th in the Official World Golf Rankings, but 2019 is off to a promising start.
