Creamer Nearly Nails Cameraman

Prior to the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open, the Ladies European Tour enlisted some of the competitors in the event to have a little fun and try the infamous “Happy Gilmore swing” on the par-4 6th tee of the Pro-Am.

Happy to appease the LET and let loose prior to the tournament, some of the biggest names in the event took a swipe at the ball in the form of the beloved 1996 movie character. Michelle Wie, Lydia Ko, Charley Hull, Ariya Jutanugarn and Paula Creamer were among those to take the running wind-up and swing, but Creamer proved to be far more dangerous than entertaining.

With both a cameraman and her coach slightly ahead and to the right of her, Creamer sent her attempt screaming towards them.

“I now know I will never do a happy Gilmore swing ever again!” Creamer wrote on her Instagram post.

“The risks you take as a dedicated coach as @ThePCreamer attempts a Happy Gilmore on hole 6 in the Pro-Am today,” Kevin Craggs, Creamer’s coach wrote on Twitter. “Can safely say will not be doing this again for the rest of the week.”

Creamer was not alone in her struggles with the Gilmore swing as evidenced by the LPGA Tour’s Twitter video of the experiment.
