Not all PGA Tour events are created equal. There are the fall events, the normal week-to-week events, then there are the invitationals, World Golf Championships and majors. Typically, what sets these events apart from one another is the presenting sponsors. If there’s a BMW or Lexus connection, the Tour players know they’ll be driving around the tournament city in style. Similarly, when you’re at the Wyndham Championship, you know there are some solid travel perks on the line.
Luke Donald found out the level of perks available this week in Greensboro thanks to a perfectly struck 9-iron on the par-3 16th hole.
Great start to the week, hole in one on #16 today. Thx #Wyndham for this amazing prize #163 #9iron #MP5 ♠️♠️ pic.twitter.com/qUSsyVGBrp

Yeah, free vacations for life is a nice perk. Unfortunately for the rest of the field, that promotion is a one-time deal, so an ace the rest of the week at the PGA Tour’s regular season finale will only be good for a 1 on the scorecard.
The working media didn’t make out too badly on the deal, either.

Donald’s ace helped propel him to a 5-under par 65, placing him two shots behind first-round co-leaders Kevin Na and Rafael Cabrera Bello.
