Dustin Johnson can do no wrong this year, it seems, so long as he’s staying upright on wooden stairs. The defending U.S Open champion has won three of his last five starts on the PGA Tour dating back to February, and the only two times he didn’t win he finished solo third and tied for second.

Despite a slow start at this week’s Players Championship, DJ showed glimpses of the game that skyrocketed him to the top of the Official World Golf Rankings over the past few months.
Playing the par-5 11th hole, his second of the day, DJ pushed a drive into the right pine straw. Making the aggressive play, he tried to reach the par-5 in two only to come up short and in the water. No problem for the Coastal Carolina product. DJ picked a good yardage, for his drop and took dead aim. It looked like a birdie the whole way.
Johnson would go on to shoot a second round 1-over par 73 to enter the weekend at even par, nine shots back of co-leaders Louis Oosthuizen and Kyle Stanley.
