In the latest edition of “Golf is Hard,” on Saturday during the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Emiliano Grillo was just two shots off the lead at seven-under when he reached the par-5 sixth hole. From over 240 yards, the young Argentine decided to get aggressive with his second shot with a three-iron but ended up in the water. Wasting no time, he took his drop a few yards closer and went for it again. Unfortunately, his ball was a fraction short, and it ricocheted off the rocks and back into the drink for the second time.
Then, in a scene that could have been out of Tin Cup, he asks for another ball and on his sixth shot finally clears the water and runs his ball through the back of the green, prompting this bold reaction:

Out of apparent frustration, Grillo fired his club into the water en route to a quadruple-bogey nine and a round of six-over 78. Yes, it made for some great TV, but in a week in which we are remembering The King, we are fairly certain Arnie wouldn’t have been too proud.
As things stand after three rounds, Kevin Kisner and Charley Hoffman share the lead at 11-under. Rory McIlory and Rickie Fowler put themselves in contention on moving day with matching 65s, the lowest rounds of the day. Here are the highlights and leaderboard heading into Sunday’s final round:
