In golf, sometimes great shots are rewarded, and sometimes they aren’t. Unfortunately for David Howell during Friday’s second round of the British Masters, his was not. In fact, you can even say he was robbed — by his partner!
On The Grove’s 174-yard, par-3 13th, the 41-year-old Englishman hit a laser that never left the pin. Upon landing, it took one hop and then, by some stroke of sheer bad luck, his ball caromed off of his partner’s ball – whose shot was also no slouch – stopping it about four feet from the hole.
Whether it was actually going to find the bottom of the cup, we’ll never know, but it’s fun to pretend — you know — as long as your name isn’t David Howell.
