A hole-in-one is the ultimate goal of any golfer, but a hole-in-three isn’t any less impressive. On Sunday during the European Tour’s Scottish Open, New Zealand’s Ryan Fox was playing the par-3 6th at Dundonald Links when he hit his tee shot wayward prompting him to hit a provisional.
Low and behold, Fox knocked the next one right in the hole for unconventional par. The shot brought back shades of Fred Couples at the 1999 Players Championship. Fox went on to shoot 2-under 70 and finished in a tie for fourth.
However, the day belonged to Rafa Cabrera-Bello who fired a bogey-free 8-under 64 to come from behind and force a sudden death playoff, which he won on the first hole over Callum Shinkwin to collect his third European Tour win. It was the Spaniard’s first since the 2012 Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Over on the PGA Tour Champions, Scott McCarron claimed his first major at the Constellation Senior Players Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Baltimore, Maryland topping Bernhard Langer by one, who was gunning for his unprecedented fourth straight win at the event.
McCarron raced out of the gate going out in 5-under 31 on his way to shooting a bogey-free 66. Langer uncharacteristically made a few careless errors coming down the stretch, but still had a putt to send it to a playoff. However, it was not to be, and McCarron emerged victoriously.
