Smoke from forest fires east of the Cascade Mountains have caused the air quality at the site of this week’s PGA Tour Champions’ Boeing Classic near Seattle to be classified as “unhealthy” by Washington’s Air Monitoring Network.
TPC Snoqualmie Ridge in Snoqualmie is set to host the event with the pro-ams going off Wednesday and Thursday and the tournament proper beginning on Friday. Wade Stettner, the PGA Tour’s meteorologist, shared pictures of the course, which show just how much smoke has affected the venue.

Despite the Washington Air Monitoring Network relaying that the “unhealthy” classification was closer to the “very unhealthy” category than to “unhealthy for sensitive groups,” according to GolfDigest.com, Stettner said that Wednesday should be the final day with heavy smoke in the air.
