In today’s world, sarcasm can be a dangerous thing. Senior Golfweek writer and Golf Channel contributor Geoff Shackelford recently took some heat for a tweet he posted on on Tuesday during the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. The video above was complimented with this interesting choice of language:
The player passion @NCAAGolfChamps has been swell but these van drivers assaulting their players after winning matches is a bit much.
The man giving the aggressive hug is actually a Vanderbilt golf coach, not some random van driver as Shackelford stated. The post was received so poorly, PGA Tour players took the time to respond as tastefully as they could.
Van drivers?? Really?? Do some research and sound somewhat intelligent about what a golf coach does.. https://t.co/pHWHr5HF42

Cmon Geoff! We all know you’re better than that

Then came this lengthy response from Alabama head coach Jay Seawell:

However, not all folks took it offensively.
Obviously no one can handle a sarcastic comment these days. Everyone just needs to relax ?

Sarcasm; it’s a beautiful thing.
