England’s Tyrrell Hatton is not one to hide his emotions while he’s on the course, and on Sunday at the Dell Technologies Championship, the disbelief he felt when his nearly perfect 75-yard approach shot didn’t go in on the 18th hole was palpable.
Playing the par-5 18th at TPC Boston, Hatton laid up his second shot to the left-center of the fairway, his ball ironically coming to rest in the drop zone for those who had hit it in the hazard.
With a short distance remaining, Hatton clipped his wedge shot perfectly and watched as the ball seemingly defied physics and failed to fall into the hole.
He would convert the birdie putt from six feet and sign his scorecard for a 2-under par 69, leaving him one shot back of the 54-hole leader, Abraham Ancer.
