Matt Kuchar found himself in the news again on Thursday during the Waste Management Phoenix Open for a comment picked up by microphones on the ground at TPC Scottsdale.
Ever conscious of the latest trends — which includes Bryson DeChambeau’s semi-viral video dissecting the air density of a shot he hit in Dubai — Kuchar hit an approach shot during the first round and credited some scientific reasons for what transpired.

“I think the electromagnetic pulses pushed it back a little bit,” Kuchar said.
Kuchar had the pulses dialed in fairly well apparently because he shot 4-under par 67 in the first round to be in a tie for 11th place heading into the weekend in Phoenix.
