There is pressure on professional golfers every week on the PGA Tour.
Then there is the pressure former U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover allegedly encounters at home.
After a poor showing at The Players Championship on Saturday where he shot a 78 to miss the secondary cut, Glover’s wife, Krista, allegedly called him names and threatened that “he better win or her and the kids would leave him and he would never see their kids again.” Krista then proceeded to get into a physical altercation with Lucas and his mother, Hershey Glover, leading to her arrest in Jupiter, Florida.
Krista was booked on charges of battery and resisting arrest and released on $2,5000 bail by the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office, according to court records obtained by Heavy.com.
The police report details Lucas’ home life and his treatment by his wife. Lucas told police that when he plays poorly his wife berates him calling him a “loser” and a “p***y” and threatens to take his children away. Krista, according to the report, had been drinking all day and after the yelling in front of the children, Lucas advised Krista to stop the argument and put the children to bed. Lucas went to the porch to relax and Krista returned and “began a physical altercation with him causing a laceration to his arm,” according to the report. Hershey stepped in and also was injured in the altercation.
Lucas Glover’s wife Krista was arrested for domestic violence on Saturday. She allegedly attacked him after he shot 78 on Saturday at the Players and told him that she and the kids would leave him if he didn’t win again.

After talking with police and being told his wife would be arrested, Lucas tried to change his statement and said that no physical altercation took place. The report also details Krista’s behavior after the arrest, including damaging a patrol car after repeatedly kicking it, getting into verbal altercations with the arresting officers and threatening the officers’ jobs as a result of the arrest.
Lucas released a statement on Twitter on Tuesday that Krista did not assault him or his mother and that he is confident she will be exonerated in the judicial system. He also asked for privacy as he works through “this unfortunate situation.”

The 911 call of the incident was released on Wednesday with Krista initiating the call, blaming her mother-in-law for the incident. When the police department called back, Glover said his wife was lying.
“Yeah, hi, I think we got our lines crossed here. This is the husband, the sane one of the bunch,” Glover says in a calm voice. “My wife has called you. … Now she’s trying to blame it on my mother, which is not the case at all. … My wife has gone crazy.”
Glover, 38, and his wife have two children, a daughter who turned 5 on Monday and a 2-year-old son. He turned pro in 2001 and has three PGA Tour wins, including a win at the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. His last Tour victory came in 2011 at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow.
Krista faces a May 31 court date on misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and resisting arrest without violence.
