The Waste Management Phoenix Open has become one of the most popular events on the PGA Tour.
Over the course of the last few decades, the early-season Arizona stop has evolved into a bucket-list event for many looking to enjoy some good golf and an even better time, but one patron is accused of having too good of a time.
QuinnJamieson, 20, was pursued on foot on Saturday of the Waste Management Phoenix Open just before noon, believed to have stolen alcohol at the event.
According to AZCentral.com, Jamieson ran away from event workers before scaling a barbed-wire fence and jumping into a canal that was part of the Central Arizona Project Aqueduct.

Scottsdale police spokesman Sgt. Ben Hoster said Jamieson swam in the canal for about 10 minutes and was unable to get out on his own, which required Scottsdale fire personnel to toss him a “throw bag” to aid his removal from the canal.
Following his removal from the canal, Jamieson was arrested and he faces possible charges of theft, trespassing, disorderly conduct, minor consumption of alcohol and related charges, according to Hoster.
Police said shortly after the arrest that they weren’t immediately sure what kind or how much alcohol Jamieson was accused of stealing.
