Jimenez Drop Kicks His Putter at the Senior PGA

If you though the over-50 circuit was fun and games, and just legends cashing checks, think again. This week the PGA Tour Champions is outside of Washington D.C. for its second major championship of the season.

Miguel Angel Jimenez, the most interesting man in golf, is still searching for his first major on any Tour and on Saturday at Trump National Golf Club – Washington D.C., he showed just how much he wants to win the trophy. Entering the second round two shots back of the leader, Jimenez was striking the ball beautifully, but couldn’t get a putt to drop on the greens.

On the sixth green, Jimenez again had a makable look for birdie, but when the ball burned the edge, the Spaniard took out his frustration on his putter, drop kicking it to the ground.

The putter seemed to have learned its lesson, however. Just three holes later on the drivable ninth, Jimenez buried a bomb for eagle to give him sole possession of the lead at that point.

A few bogeys stalled his quest for the halfway lead, and he enters the weekend six shots back of Bernhard Langer.
