The West Coast Swing of the 2016-17 PGA Tour schedule gets underway this week at the CareerBuilder Challenge in La Quinta, California. Along with the Tour’s return to the mainland, PGA TOUR LIVE kicks off its second full season of giving fans early-round action previously unavailable until the normal television window.
The CareerBuilder Challenge is contested across three courses and will feature a 54-hole cut. The host venue, the Stadium Course at PGA West, will host one of the first three rounds as well as the final round and both the Tournament Course at PGA West and La Quinta Country Club will play host to one of the first three rounds.

156 players will tee it up in the 2017 field at the CareerBuilder Challenge, including 10 past champions. Despite being contested on two of the easiest courses on Tour, weather threatens to play a role this week as wind, rain and chilly temperatures are expected throughout the week.
Last year’s renewal was won by Jason Dufner in a playoff over David Lingmerth. While Dufner’s third consecutive par on the 18th hole was enough to seal the win, the shot of the week came a hole earlier on the par-3 17th. Dufner escaped from a rocky lie behind the island green to get up and down for par.
