Phil Mickelson is a once-in-a-generation talent and when he does things like that, you just have to shake your head. On the surface, it looks like a solid flop shot, but the second view of it shows the true genius the man possesses.
Mickelson tapped in that putt for a disappointing 4-over par 75 that puts him two spots out of dead last, thanks mostly to his blow up on the par-4 6th hole, which resulted in a quadruple-bogey 8.

Mickelson is 10 shots back of co-leaders James Hahn and Ryan Moore, but a plethora of big names are in the hunt heading to the weekend in Boston. Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia, Zach Johnson, Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker are only a few of the 37 (!) names that are within three shots of the lead.
