Pieters Makes Unique Sponsorship Plea On Bag

Professional golf can be a lucrative career if you possess the talent Thomas Pieters does, but there’s always room in the bank account for more money.

At least, that appears to be the stance the long bombing Belgian is taking this week at the European Tour’s Maybank Championship.

Having cashed over $10 million in on-the-course earnings and likely more than that in off-the-course endorsements, Pieters has opened up a valuable piece of real estate on his golf bag and made it very obvious what he’s trying to accomplish.

Pieters previously used the main sponsor position on his bag to support his brother’s creative agency, but as you can see in the picture above, he’s entertaining offers from potential advertisers in English, Japanese and Dutch.

Pieters is currently ranked 81st in the world and has exemptions into this year’s PGA and Open Championships.

According to GolfDigest.com, the front of a pro’s bag at Pieters level can be worth anywhere from $10,000 to the six-figure range, so it would appear to be in Pieters’ best interest to draw as much attention to it as possible.

Just like one of those bus stop benches, it made us look.
