As Steely Dan once famously said, Rickie “don’t lose that number!” During Wednesday’s practice round at this week’s Players Championship, Rickie Fowler treated fans at TPC Sawgrass to an ace on the world famous island green par-3 17th hole. The 2015 winner seems to feel quite at home on the island, considering he birdied three times on that Sunday, once in regulation and then twice in the playoff.
However, some folks, mainly Justin Thomas who stuck one to a foot, weren’t too pleased:

Last year, Willy Wilcox recorded the first hole-in-one in competition since 2002. There have only been seven aces at the 17th in the tournament’s history at Sawgrass.
Speaking of the 17th hole, some of the guys had a little fun playing it with something other than their usual club in a contest creatively named “Putter or Lefty?” The rules were fairly straightforward and the results were interesting, to say the least.

Hopefully, we get some more fireworks this week. Although, the Players rarely disappoints.
