When the Sunday singles pairings were released on Saturday night, the match everyone wanted to see was at the top of the board: Patrick Reed vs. Rory McIlroy. Both Reed and McIlroy were on top of their respective games in the four team matches, and their match on Sunday did the unthinkable — it exceeded the considerable hype.
Throwing haymakers back and forth, both Reed and McIlroy exchanged clutch putt after clutch putt, each of which was punctuated with a great celebration.

And then it all came to a head on the 8th hole.
The theatrics never stopped, but Reed was able to edge out a 1-up victory in one of the greatest matches in Ryder Cup history.
