Fan behavior at PGA Tour events has become a common point of contention in 2018, and over the weekend at the Dell Technologies Championship, another run-in with an unruly fan resulted in a confrontation by a caddie.
Paul Tesori, the caddie to Webb Simpson, took matters into his own hands on Sunday at TPC Boston. Having a tough day on the course, Simpson fell out of the lead that he had built over the first two rounds.
With Simpson’s 5-over par round nearing its conclusion on the 18th hole, Tesori approached the gallery ropes and confronted a fan who had been giving Simpson a hard time throughout the day.

NBC on-course commentator Roger Maltbie was on the scene and relayed that the fan in question had “been a problem for a while.”
“He’s been heckling Webb Simpson about having a nice day, good round,” Maltbie said. “That’s kind of disrupting things at the moment.”
When confronted, the fan appeared sheepish in response to Tesori. After giving him a piece of his mind, Tesori called over a police officer and had the fan ejected.
