Koepka Continues To Lead The Way

Brooks Koepka has proven to be the closest counterpart the U.S.A. has to Rory McIlroy’s thoughtful and candid public relations, and Koepka took another step in his journey as such last week.

Koepka took to social media to announce that he was donating $100,000 through the Brooks Koepka Foundation to the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin County’s COVID-19 Response Fund.

“Together we can get through these tough times,” Koepka captioned the post. “I’m committing $100,000 through the Brooks Koepka Foundation to go directly to the Community Foundation for Palm Beach & Martin Counties COVID-19 response fund. I hope others will join me in our united effort to help everyone who will be impacted by this global crisis. Stay safe everyone!”

How Does Augusta Look In The Fall

With speculation running rampant about the possibilities of an autumn Masters once the coronavirus pandemic has been dealt with, various questions and aloud wonderings of what the course will look like and how it will play have been lobbied about by golf fans with suddenly very little to look forward to the remainder of the year.

Golf.com’s Dylan Dethier took advantage of the outlet’s resources and dove into the Augusta National archives for some pictures of what the course would look like should an October or November Masters come to fruition.

The course famously closes annually in May and reopens in October to avoid the Georgia summer heat.

Rory Shows Off Quarantine Workout

Are you looking for some inspiration and direction during these uncertain times? Rory McIlroy posted a series of videos to his Instagram account detailing how he trains strategically a few times per week in order to add/maintain some power and speed in his swing.

“Been getting a lot of questions about my workout routine the last few days,” McIlroy said. “Going to put up a few of the exercises I did today in my power/explosive session. I do this twice a week. Not about lifting too heavy, more about training speed. Hopefully could add a few yards to your drives!”

While you may not have the full-scale in-home gym set up that McIlroy does, you can adapt some of these using weights or objects you have lying around the house.

Pro Shoots 59 To Win MLG Event

Yes, there is still professional golf going on, and yes, these guys are good, too.

Jared du Toit, a player on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica, shot a final-round, 11-under 59 at the Outlaw Tour’s Western Skies Classic last week only to lose in a playoff to Wil Bateman. Five days later, another sub-60 score was recorded on the mini-tour circuit.

Sunny Kim, a former Korn Ferry Tour player, fired a 59 on the Minor League Golf Tour to erase a nine-stroke deficit and win at The Fox Club in Palm City, Florida. Kim made five birdies on the front nine, and then three more in the first four holes on the back nine before eagles on two of his last three earned him golf’s most sought-after number.

improbably, the victory earned Kim his 67th (!) career MLG victory.
