Despite his unparalleled success, even the greatest of champions encounter challenges. Here are some of Woods’ worst-ever rounds.


80: 1994, Nestle Invitational, first round

One can expect an amateur to play poorly, even Tiger Woods. But getting an early glimpse at Tiger at the age of 18 playing at the Nestle Invitational it would be hard to fathom such a storied career after he shot an 80 in the first round.

80: 2015 U.S. Open, first round

Only carding a single birdie in the first round while hitting on half the greens in regulation would call for a high round score, one to the tune of 15 shots off the lead after Day 1.

81: 2002 British Open, third round

In a bit of a flip flop, or in this case a flop flip, Tiger would go on to shoot an 81 on day 3, but then came back and shoot an astonishing 65 on Day 4. Oh and he followed that by winning the next tournament!

82: 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open, second round

During this round, Tiger Woods faced a double bogey followed by a triple bogey, marking the statistically worst two-hole stretch of his career.

82: 2024 Masters, third round

In his worst ever round at Augusta, specially his worst ever Front 9, he finished before the turn with a Bogey, Double Bogey, Double Bogey, Bogey. He capped the round of with a mind-bending 82.

85: 2015 Memorial Tournament, third round

A single birdie, coupled with four water balls and a closing quadruple bogey, resulted in his worst score ever in a professional event. Adding insult to injury was the rest of his grouping shot a 70, and dueling 65s.
