With many golfers around Europe stuck indoors during the coronavirus pandemic, Callaway Golf Europe has been enlisting some if its popular Tour stars to share tips from their homes.
By and large, the effort has gone well: recreational golfers get a nice tip from one of their favorite players and find a way to pick up a golf club in a time that is wrought with stress and uncertainty.
Then, on Thursday, it was Thomas Bjorn’s turn to share a tip. Filming inside his home with open French doors, Bjorn began talking about the importance of body movement in the chipping game.
“When we do chipping, the one thing that we try and do is try to set the right arm in behind,” the 15-time European Tour winner said. “And when we’re doing this exercise, what we want to try and do is turn our body, get back to the ball and turn on through, with no breaking down of the wrists. It really is a turn…”
Bjorn then demonstrated his tip with hilarious results.

Clearly whoever was filming him was thrown off by the glass shattering as the camera jerked away from Bjorn.
In posting the video, Bjorn admitted that he hadn’t picked up a club since February and shared the results of the wayward chip.

As you’d expect, Bjorn’s peers had a field day with the video. Comments came in from the likes of Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald, Brooks Koepka, Shane Lowry, Lee Westwood, Francesco Molinari, Henrik Stenson, Andrew “Beef” Johnston and Trevor Immelman among countless others.
“The best content of the lockdown right there,” McIlroy commented on Bjorn’s Instagram post.
A word to the wise: maybe stick with putting during quarantine.
