Hudson Swafford broke through to win his first PGA Tour event on Sunday in the California desert. The Georgia Bulldog shot rounds of 65-65-71-67 to best runner-up Adam Hadwin by a stroke.

Swafford was near the top of the rankings in many categories in Palm Springs, but strokes gained: off the tee was one of the few he sat atop at week’s end. Swafford picked up 3.279 strokes on the field from the tee box, which led to his other top-ranking finish: birdies made (26).
