Tour Pro Victimized By Fake Snake

One of the oldest tricks in the book made an appearance during this week’s Shriners Children’s Hospital Open, and it was perfection. During a practice round at TPC Summerlin, Smylie Kaufman fell victim to the dreaded fake snake in the golf bag prank. While he was going through his routine, a member of his entourage planted the prop and the waiting game was on. As soon as Smylie got back to his bag, hilarity ensued.

While we’re on the topic of fake snakes, allow us to throw it back to one of the all-time great moments in golf history: the 1971 U.S. Open 18-hole playoff between Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino at Merion. In an effort to break the tension, the Merry Mex tossed a rubber snake in Nicklaus’ direction and everybody had a good laugh. Trevino went on to claim his second U.S. Open title.
