The USGA and R&A value your opinion!
At least, that’s what they’re telling you in requesting you take anywhere from five-to-15 minutes to fill out a survey that they hope will shed more light on the ever-evolving distance debate.
“Welcome to the Distance Insights project, a joint initiative by the USGA and The R&A to study the past, present and future impacts of distance in golf,” the USGA survey website reads. “Coinciding with this work is the introduction of this dedicated online portal, intended as a primary source of content, as well as a platform for the exchange of information and perspectives from all stakeholders in the golf community.”

“We’re inviting perspectives and opinions from the global golf community because we recognize the topic of distance is one that potentially impacts us all in some capacity,” Mike Davis, CEO of the USGA, said in a statement. “This is the best opportunity for people to share their thoughts and data with us. We know a final Distance Insights report that reflects a breadth of perspectives will be critical to deepening an understanding of the complex nature, and far-reaching implications, of this subject matter.”
Following the surveying of golfers young and old, good and bad, will be follow-up phone interviews and online forum discussions on the issue of distance in the sport.
The questions range from your involvement and participation in the game, to the actual distances you hit your drives and 7-irons, to your general thoughts on the sport, mostly in multiple choice format.
