Wie Withdraws From Second Start Back With Injury

Michelle Wie has once again been bitten by the injury bug.

In just her second start since having surgery in October, Wie played the first 14 holes of HSBC Women’s World Championship in 10-over par before withdrawing citing pain in her right hand.

Wie returned to competition last week at the LPGA Thailand, finishing 23rd. Defending her lone LPGA Tour title from 2018, Wie walked off on the 15th hole holding her hand and wrist.

Wie fractured her hand and sustained extensive neck injuries in a car accident two years ago, according to LPGA.com. She hasn’t commented on her injury or withdrawal as of this posting.
