Caddy Girls Go Fishing But Cut Bait On ‘Shark Tank’

Any golfer knows the benefit of a good caddie. A caddie can add plenty of knowledge when playing a new course, carry the bag so you can enjoy your walk even more and, in the case of The Caddy Girls, bring much more to your golfing experience.

Originally based out of Myrtle Beach, The Caddy Girls offer caddie services at several locations across the country and are as in tune with the game and the art of caddieing as they are with providing their clients a memorable experience.

The group, led by founder Meghan Tarmey, took its cause to ABC’s “Shark Tank” seeking funding for growth.

Tarmey rolled into the tank in her pink golf cart flanked by two of her Caddy Girls, and proceeded to deliver a pretty impressive pitch to the sharks asking for $100,000 for 20% of her company.   She told the sharks her company had over $148,000 in sales in 2013 and proudly informed everyone that “we are hot girls that know about golf.”


Fashion and branding expert Daymond John and the “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner were quick to drop out. Billionaire Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of AXS TV was next to go.  But the outspoken owner of the 2011 NBA championship Dallas Mavericks  had a few parting shots proclaiming “I hate golf, so I’m out… I can think of 100,000 things I rather do then schlep around a golf course.”

Technology innovator Robert Herjavec was next to drop out stating that the company was still in the “hustle phase” and not yet at the “investment phase.” 

This left only venture capitalist and self proclaimed “Mr. Wonderful” Kevin O’Leary who shocked the other sharks with an offer of $100,000 for 50% of the company prompting Greiner to state, “the devil will give you a better deal.”  But Cuban disagreed saying it wasn’t that bad.

Tarmey countered, asking for O’Leary to consider a 40% stake for the $100,000 asking price, but that was quickly rejected by the lone shark.  It was then that The Caddy Girl owner dug her heals in and stood her ground, turning down the bid.

As she left the tank, the sharks were all complimentary in regards to the way she presented herself and the organization and wished her luck.

“I know my worth and I know my company’s worth and what Kevin was offering to me just wasn’t worth it to me,” Tarmey declared as the segment came to a close.

We’re sure there’s a lot of good things in store for The Caddy Girls in the near future.  They just returned from a location shoot for their new calendar and business continues to be strong.  We’ll definitely be watching.
