Everyone either knows or has been paired with the guy who carries a left-handed club in his bag, “just in case.” Most of the time, the club never leaves the bag but when it does, it produces nothing more than a weak top or a shank … if contact is made at all.
Those results, however, are all from duffers, hackers and less-than-great golfers like you and me. Tour pros are so good, they make the game look effortless even when they swing from the opposite side.
Don’t believe me? Check out Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler giving it a go during a practice round at TPC Sawgrass on the famed island green 17th hole. Fowler and Johnson swung lefty, while Lefty swung righty:
Switching it up on 17 today…this is our second round of shots and I snuck one on the green… http://t.co/6PkxjTYlcG

“@austin_johnson12: I messed it up but this was @therealrickiefowler @djohnsonpga and Phil having fun hittin from the wrong side at #17 today”
After seeing this, I wonder how many people will try (and fail) to hit their left-handed buddy’s clubs next time they go out?
