If you’re struggling to shallow the club in the downswing, first take a look at your backswing to see if it’s working the proper plane. Many times, the club is working back and is too shallow.

Take a tee and put it in the butt of the club. Point the tee between your foot line and the ball line. Once you get the club to the top of your swing, point the tee outside the ball line on the downswing to help shallow the club out.

Let’s work that tee back on the steep side and on the downside, nice and shallow so we can hit better shots and play better golf.
