One of the most important parts to your putting is controlling your distance. It takes a lot of feel to look over at a target and know how hard to swing the putter. One of the best drills you can do to work on your feel is to attempt to putt the ball a certain distance with your eyes closed.

By putting a tee in the ground — using a hole would negatively impact the effect of the drill — you can close your eyes and call out how you feel you hit the putt. By doing this drill, you’ll get a better awareness of how far the ball is going to go with each stroke. In time, you’ll increase your awareness and feel for your stroke and the speed of the greens.
