One of the biggest takeaways I’ve gotten from talking with Sir Nick Faldo is how he would create an “anti-shot” for pressure situations to eliminate one side of the golf course.

When there’s water on the left side of the hole, for example, you need to be able to hit it into the fairway or into the right rough. Hitting it in the water is not an option.

Not wanting the ball to go left, Faldo would create a feel for what he was trying to do. In this case, he would want to feel the heel ahead of the toe, which would make it practically impossible to hit it left.
